Acision claims it has launched the world’s first open service text architecture, the Acision (News - Alert) Text Suite.
According to company officials, the Text Suite provides operators with the control and flexibility they need to extend their text messaging business to markets they couldn't effectively address before.
The Acision Text Suite will also help operators to enrich their current subscriber services in order to differentiate themselves in highly competitive markets and monetize messaging and network assets to grow their business.
"Instead of using the 'one size fits all' approach of current SMS architectures, Acision recognizes that operators require tailored solutions to address the specific challenges of their individual markets. The modularity and scalability of Acision Text Suite, along with its powerful operational and business control capabilities, enables operators to build and evolve their SMS business environment to fit their specific market needs,” said Steven van Zanen, vice president of product marketing, Acision.
Zanen explained that this minimizes capital expenditure and total cost of ownership and also provides a solution that monetizes messaging opportunities, short and long term.
"For mobile operators, text messaging is still the only truly successful data service, with traffic volumes increasing year on year. It is, therefore, vital that operators continue to leverage messaging by differentiating the SMS services they offer and exploiting their existing text messaging channel,” he said.
According to Zanen, the company developed Acision Text Suite as an open service architecture, which enables operators to easily expand their SMS business to parties who want to leverage the reach of SMS to benefit their businesses.
Acision currently provides communication solutions for over 300 network operators and service providers globally.
Recently, the company announced that it was awarded with a contract for advanced messaging services for 3's networks in Australia and Austria to enable the delivery of enhanced voicemail and videomail services to its customers.
Acision's IP-based architecture is expected to allow 3's networks in these countries the ability to reduce the voicemail hardware footprint in its data centers by as much as 90 percent and provide long term savings, high performance and scalability.
