BoxTone Launches BlackBerry Platform for MSP Community

BoxTone, a provider of mobile user management solutions, has announced a packaged offering of BlackBerry (News - Alert) platform management software and services. The offering is designed specifically for the Managed Service Provider and messaging hosting community.

Alan Snyder, BoxTone’s (News - Alert) chief executive officer, said in a statement: “BoxTone software is already preferred by many of the world’s best-known managed service providers - including EDS (News - Alert), an HP Company, LiveOffice, Perot Systems and Raiffeisen Informatik - to manage and monitor their clients’ BlackBerry platforms.”

In their quest to gain a competitive advantage, MSPs and messaging hosters are seeking to generate more revenue from existing BlackBerry service engagements through new offerings coupled with a lower cost to serve. According to Forrester Research (News - Alert), a new storm is brewing as technological change, the technology investment cycle and difficult economies are combining forces to push some types of managed services over the chasm.

“Thanks to best practices gained supporting thousands of smartphones at managed accounts, BoxTone is delighted to offer a special bundle of software and services to help MSPs manage mobility costs and generate more revenue per mobile user. In fact, our MSP partners already use BoxTone to manage more than 60,000 smartphones, with many more on the way,” Snyder continued.

While the overall opportunity for BlackBerry support has grown dramatically, margins for the service have also come under pressure. With the BoxTone MSP Bundle, MSPs can expand market opportunity in new ways to generate incremental revenue while also lowering the actual cost to serve.

With fewer calls demanding less time to resolve, help desk costs can be reduced significantly, impacting the overall bottom line. At the same time, fewer staff members are needed to provide the same or even superior levels of support and personnel can be reallocated to revenue-generating assignments elsewhere.

MSPs can also use the Bundle solution to generate more top-line revenue per mobile user as it includes software and services designed to provide incremental value outside the scope of existing engagements. The Bundle can be used to create a special white-glove Mobile Executive Support service, which can monitor in real-time the actual experiences of VIP mobile users and alert a support team to even the most minor of service disruptions or issues.

“This packaged MSP offering for BlackBerry management reflects BoxTone’s deep commitment to the Managed Service Provider community,” added Snyder. “MSPs can trust BoxTone to scale like no other software, supporting up to 50,000 BlackBerry smartphones from a single instance. And our light-weight, agentless approach makes supporting clients across multiple geographies, databases, domains and mail platforms far easier.”

Earlier this year, BoxTone announced a money-back guarantee on its BlackBerry Mobile platform software. This move was in effort to enhance the value already delivered to enterprise customers relying on the BoxTone solution to drive innovative performance for all users.

At a BoxTone User Conference earlier this spring, clients reported that their BoxTone software helped them to realize the full value of their BlackBerry platform. Now in its availability to the managed and hosted space, BoxTone extends its offerings to better position its value in the market and continue to build out its market presence.
