Alltel (News - Alert) Wireless has launched a new ‘Back to School’ promotion for new and existing Alltel subscribers with My Circle plans, Smart Choice Packs, and Bundled Wireless Internet plans.
In this move, the company hopes to reach out to kids heading back to school and parents who are looking for options that reduce wireless bills.
Under the new scheme, customers can add up to four lines to their primary account with a $25 activation fee per line and get three months worth of free service on the lines.
Alltel says that it has always placed its focus on getting families connected and bringing them together via texting, calling and surfing all at a low price.
To make staying in touch even easier, the company is now offering the sleek LG Banter, which comes preloaded with Alltel Email, Yahoo! IM and AOL (News - Alert) IM and is available for free after $50 mail-in rebate, qualifying rate plan, and 1-year service agreement activation.
The Back to School promotion and 1-year contract option is available only to customers in the 91 cellular market areas that Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless is required to divest, which will continue to operate as Alltel Wireless until the sale agreements with AT&T and Atlantic Tele-Network are approved.
Alltel also recently announced 1-year postpaid service contracts to enhance flexibility to its customers. The company claims that it is the only major wireless carrier that is still offering 2-year postpaid handset pricing to those signing 1-year contracts in order to offer its subscribers more flexibility and choice.
