Novarra’s Vision mobile Internet and multimedia platform reportedly has helped Turkcell in their 3G launch.
Turkcell, a major GSM operator in Turkey, will leverage Novarra’s (News - Alert) latest release, Version 8.0, to provide services that are core to the success of Turkcell's 3G data offerings.
The Turkish operator offers a range of services including rich streaming video tat allows consumers to videos from top sites including Dailymotion, Izlesene and Timsah on popular phones from Nokia and Samsung (News - Alert).
The operator is also offering Turkcell-branded Web toolbar for usability and personalization. According to company’s sources, 3G phones with WebKit and other capable HTML browsers will also benefit from Novarra's Smarter Smartphones features.
Turkcell (News - Alert) optimizes network capacity to cost effectively handle the expected increase of 3G data traffic while providing data cost savings for consumers. In addition, the company
lets customers enjoy any Web site on their mobile phones with a fast, mobile-friendly experience that includes the same content, functionality, and features available on their PCs.
Burak Ertas, division head, consumer value added services, said explained that 3G allows broadband internet access from mobile handsets and Turkcell is striving to develop faster, more creative applications. He said that the firm’s strategic, new 3G data services will help it strengthen its position in the mobile internet market.
The demand for Internet mobility is growing and consumers now expect rich content, speed and ease of use, according to Ian McWilliams, managing director, Novarra Europe. He said that Novarra solutions will help operators to maximize network capacity and performance to profitably deliver the best possible user experience.
“We are pleased to work with Turkcell who are regularly recognized for leadership and innovation,” McWilliams said. “Other operators will be following their lead for video and smartphone experience in the near future.”
