Roamware (News - Alert) Inc., a provider of mobile roaming and financial solutions throughout the world has reportedly announced that more than 400 networks in 150 countries over the globe have chosen its solutions.

The company reportedly claims an estimated 60 percent market share of the voice and data roaming segments for GSM, 3G and CDMA technology platforms, and a number of banks and global operators around the world, such as Vodafone (News - Alert), Permanent TSB and Bank of Ireland rely upon its m-commerce and mobile banking solutions to carry out their operations successfully. Roamware offers a range of services, as diverse as credit transfers, international remittance, person to person transactions to top-up and bill payment.

It has consistently shown its commendable performance in the roaming solutions market and the mobile financial services sector, and the figures announced by the company seem to support its market position. The announced figure doesn’t include Roamware’s non-telecom customer base, which consists of a number of banks and other financial service providers across the world. In geographical terms, the customer base of the company displays an evenly distributed worldwide presence, which runs parallel to the global mobile network distribution pattern.

In the words of Bobby Srinivasan, President and CEO, Roamware, this is a great moment for the company family and is a testimony of its innovation-led growth. Srinivasan added that the feat is particularly remarkable considering the company has achieved this in a span of less than eight years.
Upon a thoughtful analysis these figures seem to be particularly significant, as the aggregate global community of GSM operators consists of about 800 operators, which are spread across 219 countries. According to an estimate, around 50-80 of these networks are still in various degrees of rollout and hence still to deploy roaming solutions.

According to Abraham Punnoose, vice president, marketing and business development, Roamware, the company recognizes these network relationships as a key strength and the pivot of its growth strategy going forward. Punnoose noted that with a penetration of about four applications per customer network on the roaming side, Roamware claims the potential to push more of roaming applications to these subscribers not to mention cross-selling roaming and mobile financial services to the other subscriber base.

October last year, Roamware had introduced its roaming hub system, Roamware Meta Hub, which allowed mobile operators to quickly offer customers access to new partner networks and provide a range of new voice and data services. This hubbing system reportedly offered a global ecosystem of interconnectivity between sub-hubs that host a range of global roaming services shared by multiple network operators and could be deployed to market with speed via a single connection.
