The global leader in mobile data, Acision (News - Alert) and a leader in online family safety technology, Echometrix Inc. announced the launch of Acision Innovation Network to provide a unique integrated offering for advanced parental control in the mobile market place. They have come together to deliver a breakthrough parental control solution to address the concerns of the subscribers of cyber-bullying and other high-risk mobile text communications to mobile operators.
According to company officials, the solution, a first network-based, universal parental text monitoring system will work with all text messaging enabled mobile phones. It will let the operators offer services such as monitoring and alerts to parents when a child encounters questionable messages.
The solution is based on Acision’s Message Plus platform and Echometrix’s FamilySafe technology, developed in cooperation with the AmberWatch Foundation. The Acision’s Message Plus platform enables operators to personalize the messaging experience like divert, copy and automated reply messages, a capability which is generally not available in today’s mobile messaging solutions. With the Echometrix’s FamilySafe technology, the parental control feature set on Acision’s Message Plus platform can identify whether sent and received messages contain inappropriate or potentially harmful content. This has been developed from years of experience and will provide instant notification when potentially dangerous situations are happening from a text message interaction.
As per the consumer research by Acision, 82 percent of parents would like to have more control over the content their children send and receive as messages as well as with whom the exchange of message is taking place. 57 percent parents feel that with more control features offered by carriers would make them feel comfortable in giving their child, especially a pre-teenager or teenager, a mobile. This will definitely boost the mobile subscriber sales.
According to Schoute, Head of Messaging, Acision, the company is taking steps to improve the ability to have personal control over mobile messaging. This will help prevent abuse. He adds that working with Echometrix to deliver a universal solution is a major leap forward. This will offer operators ability to protect the younger subscribers and also give the families peace of mind. Jeffery Greene, CEO, Echometrix completely agrees with Schoute.
