ASCOM Announces New E-Learning Classes for Customers and Partners

 ASCOM, a provider of on-site wireless communications for hospitals, manufacturing, retail and hotels, announced that the ‘Ascom (News - Alert) Academy’ is now offering a new web-based learning management system. The company is as well hosting self-paced courses for company’s customers and partners. 

 
With the newly introduced course, ASCOM customers and partners can now have an easy way to learn about the features and functionality of company products or as well become certified with Ascom. The company is as well offering a wide range of instructor led training courses.
 
Ascom’s web-based learning also includes e-Learning courses on the fundamentals of the Ascom FreeNET VoWiFi solution and as well as courses for voice and messaging applications using FreeNET SIP (session initiation protocol) technology with integration partners such as Cisco, Avaya and ShoreTel. These courses are self-paced and facilitates a student to take the fundamentals class first and then continue with certification courses, says company.
 
For those who are not familiar with FreeNET, it’s a file sharing network that stores documents and allows them to be retrieved later by an associated key, which is possible with protocols such as HTTP. This network is specially designed with all internal processes completely anonymized and also decentralized across the network. This system has no central servers and cannot be controlled by any one individual or organization.
 
Other current e-learning topics include: FreeNET fundamentals; FreeNET integration with Avaya (News - Alert) communication manager; FreeNET Integration with Cisco call manager; and FreeNET integration with ShoreTel IP-PBX.
 
Tim Overstreet, VP of technical services for Ascom, said, “Our products, solutions and services are designed for mission critical applications where your time becomes our business. Competence should hold no exception. Offering self-paced learning options are essential to our market development and we are in the process of implementing such options around the globe.”
 
Tom McKearney, executive VP of marketing and business development for Ascom, said, “.As we expand our distribution throughout North America, we need to give our customers and partner’s easy ways to learn about our products and services. E-learning classes help supplement our full range of instructor led training and allow many more people to get certified on Ascom products at their own pace and without the cost of travel." 
 
Ascom is also offering a promotion for fist 100 people signing-up, which provides full access to all self-paced e-learning content for 3 months – for those who have registered with the new Ascom Academy hosted learning services.
 
Ascom offers a wide-range of voice and professional messaging solutions, which are supporting and optimizing customer’s mission-critical processes. These voice and professional messaging solutions are based on VoWiFi, IP-DECT, DECT (News - Alert), Nurse Call and paging technologies.
