Fraud & Identity Today Week in Review: VoiceVault, AppsFlyer, Aite Group
June 17, 2017
Welcome to the week in review, where we take a look at all the top stories making headlines in the mobile fraud space this week.
The week started off with the news that VoiceVault has introduced its new Fusion 9 offering to secure systems through the use of voice biometrics. According to TMC’s (News - Alert) Steve Anderson, “The new version adds an updated user interface portal that includes audio playback, transaction reporting—with location services besides—and even language packs to help those who don't speak English.” Fusion 9 has several new features and benefits to offer users who are looking for a bit more security. Next up, we took a closer look at how fraud protection is giving marketing an edge. Marketers are often overlooked as victims when it comes to fraud, but the reality is that they have several security problems to worry about. To combat fraud targeting marketers, AppsFlyer has introduced its new Active Fraud Insights 2.0 system. Anderson writes, “Recently, AppsFlyer brought out its Active Fraud Insights 2.0 system, which can help spot several different kinds of mobile fraud. From install hijacking to click flooding to even DeviceID reset, Active Fraud Insights 2.0 is geared toward spotting it.” Find out everything you need to know HERE.
A couple studies also made headlines this week. The first commented on the overall rise in fraud and cited some unsettling statistics. According to TMC’s Paula Bernier (News - Alert), “Overall fraud last year rose 16 percent from the year prior, affecting 15.4 million U.S. consumers. That was up from 5.3 percent in 2015. It impacted more than 2 million additional people. And it’s the highest annual incidence of fraud on record.” Discover more fraud-related statistics HERE.
The second study took a look at account takeover and application fraud, which is also on the rise lately. The Aite Group has just published a report titled “Financial Institution Fraud Trends: ATO and Application Fraud Rising Rapidly,” which takes a closer look at the driving forces behind these two types of fraud. That’s all for this week. Come back next week to read all the latest fraud-related news.
