ARCHOS, an award-winning technology innovator in the portable media player market, enhanced its Android (News - Alert)-based product line by adding two more new Internet tablets, the Archos 101 Touch Screen Tablet and the Archos 70.

For consumers who want something small and with a capacitive touch screen, Archos 70 fits the bill.

Not only does it have all the capabilities that Archos 101 has, but it has an optional 250 GB storage capacity. It also comes with 8GB and has a 7.0” screen, while Archos 101 has a large 10.1” resolution screen and offers 8GB or 16GB. It offers Internet access and HD multimedia that can be customized with the Android applications.

Both touch screen tablets allow users to surf the Web in full width just like on a PC, so users no longer have to deal with scaled-down Web pages with less than full functionality. In addition, they play all music, video and photo formats and can even be played via WiFi (News - Alert) from a PC. This implies that all files need not necessarily be stored on the tablet. Internet access is possible from anywhere, if the user's mobile phone is equipped with 3.5 G and Bluetooth or in the absence of bluetooth, users can simply connect through a USB cable.

When used as a gamepad, the tablets are converted into real game consoles for the 3D open GL technology and the accelerometer provide an unmatched gaming experience. With the other advanced features, video chatting, using the forward facing camera and Bluetooth connectivity and even playing out HD videos on a large screen TV with the HDMI out connection and more are all possible.

Other Archos apps amplify the digital experience and enrich user experience with smooth browsing through the album covers and widgets that are added to the home screen, enabling instant access and control to media.

The Archos Android tablets are competitively priced. The Archos 101 sells for just $299.99 for 8GB and 349.99 for 16GB, while the Archos 70 sells for only $274.99 and $349.99 for 8GB and 250GB, respectively. The 8GB Archos 70 model is available now through the official Archos store, and the Archos 101 will be available shortly.

Established in 1988, ARCHOS (News - Alert) has offices in the United States, Europe and Asia, and has revolutionized consumer electronics devices. It invented the portable media player in 2003 and was the first to bring television recording, wireless and touch screens to portable media players.

In a related news release, ARCHOS, the award-winning portable media player and Internet Tablet manufacturer, announced new additions to its Vision range of MP3 and MP4 players- A14VG I and ARCHOS Vision A15VS I.
