As one of the first manufacturers offering Android (News - Alert) tablets, Archos expanded its Android-based product line with the addition of two new Internet tablets. The Archos 101 touch screen tablet includes a high-resolution 10.1 inch screen with a thickness of less than half an inch and is loaded with Android applications that deliver customizable internet access as well as HD multimedia. The Archos 70 includes a 7.0 inch capacitive touch screen having the same capabilities as that of Archos 1010 with an additional 250GB storage capacity, thus catering to the needs of consumers who prefer small packages.

Users can leverage both internet tablets to surf the web with the same functionality as that of a PC thus eliminating the need to access scaled down web pages. Additionally, both products can play all kinds of music, video and photo formats, also accessible from a PC using a WiFi (News - Alert) connectivity, thus saving storage space within the tablet even though capacity is high. Storage capacity within Archos 70 is either 8 GB or 250 GB while that in Archos 101 is 8 GB or 16GB.

By using the mobile phone’s internet capability, users can simply connect the device with a mobile phone having 3.5 G service enabled and Bluetooth, although USB cable can also be used in case of no Bluetooth.

Players can also use the device as gamepad, thus converting Archos Android tablets into real game consoles. Other advanced features include forward facing camera with integrated Bluetooth connectivity enabling easy video chatting with friends and family and running HD videos on large screen TV with HDMI out connection.

To amplify the digital experience of its customers, Archos included exclusive applications within the tablets such as music, video and photo applications, thus providing enriched user experience by allowing smooth browsing through the album covers along with widgets added that provide instant access and media control. The 8GB Archos 101 is available for $299.99, 16GB for 349.99, 8GB Archos 70 for $274.99 and 250 GB for $349.99.

The first pocket-sized HD-based MP3 player with the Jukebox 6000 was released by Archos in 2000 that revolutionized consumer electronics devices. Moving forward, portable media player was deployed that brought significant changes in television recording, wireless and touch screens.
