vAuto, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of AutoTrader.com that provides enhanced software solutions to fulfill the needs of dealerships and vendors of used cars, has made its used car inventory management system available for Android (News - Alert) mobile devices.

The company, based in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, Ill., has established a research and development center in Austin, Texas and deploys its Live Market View technology to enable dealers to manage their used-vehicle inventories based on actual supply-and-demand for their specific market. It offers a range of software products that fulfill a number of purposes from stocking to appraising and from pricing to merchandising. Over 3,000 dealerships have been leveraging vAuto’s pricing, appraisal, stocking and merchandising systems currently.

“We are excited to offer our dealers the vAuto mobile app for the Android platform,” commented Keith Jezek, president at vAuto. “This innovation allows dealers to have vAuto in the palm of their hands for accessing real-time market information. vAuto’s live market appraisal and stocking modules are available on the app for making strategic decisions from any location.”

Customers of vAuto can get the new mobile application that is compatible with Android 2.1 or higher operating systems, without paying any additional monthly subscription charge at all. It includes a number of advanced features, such as a new advanced barcode VIN capture method that automatically decodes and uploads to vAuto for Android devices with an auto focus camera. The application can be downloaded from the Android Market.

Previously, vAuto launched the mobile application for the Apple (News - Alert) iPhone and iTouch. With the new announcement, customers of the company can benefit from fully integrated live market based appraisal and stocking functionality right from their Android smartphones as well, apart from their Apple touch devices. The new application includes a number of third-party guidebooks and auction values and an exclusive rBook by vAuto that offers live market pricing of identically equipped vehicles in their retail market to the dealers. Additionally, vAuto’s heat sheet and buy list that is helpful in identification of hot cars in their market has also been added to the application.

In May 2010, EFG Technologies, a division of EFG Companies, a performance management company for automotive retailers, integrated SalesEDGE CRM with vAuto's Live Market Appraising technology. The integration helped dealerships with instant access to pricing on identically equipped vehicles in every market. SalesEDGE is a Web-based lead management tool and a customer retention tool that enhances the performance of sales team.
