Retina-X Studios, a leading provider of activity monitoring and tracking solutions for mobile phones, computers, tablets and networks, has announced the launch of the tablet version of SmyleSafe.

When it comes to monitoring their kids’ Internet surfing behavior, parents find themselves in a great dilemma. In an effort to help parents keep their children away from the undesired Internet contents, Retina-X Studios came up with SmyleSafe, a highly innovative web filtering software that gives kids a secure, fun-filled browsing experience. Recently, the company released the tablet version of SmyleSafe.

Smartphone and tablets have become a part of the learning process of today’s young learners. The tablet version of SmyleSafe utilizes the large screen resolution so that kids are able to enjoy a superior browser experience. At the same time, it allows concerned parents to monitor and filter the web content through an online dashboard.

SmyleSafe features pre-configured age-based filtering and dynamic keyword-based analysis of every web page accessed. The online dashboard provides complete monitoring and real-time customization of the filtering engine. As such, SmyleSafe provides an effective way for young family members to safely surf the web under the watchful eyes of their guardians. Parents can also customize the behavior of the SmyleSafe filtering engine with their own set of websites to block or allow.

The real-time location tracking and geo-fencing feature allows the parents to monitor the movement of their children. Parents can also set time restrictions to allow or block the Internet for specific time periods. The Android (News - Alert) tablet version also has application blocking.

“With statistics showing widespread use of tablets by children, we decided to bring our award-winning technology to the new platform. Now parents can monitor and filter activities to protect their children from inappropriate web content,” CEO of Retina-X Studios, James Johns noted in a statement.

Priced at $4.99, SmyleSafe for iPad and Android Tablets are currently available at the AppStore and Google (News - Alert) Play, respectively, its maker said in a statement.

SmyleSafe is also available for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone (News - Alert) 7.5, Mac OS X and Windows Desktops.

Seeking to educate parents about the five dangers kids will most likely encounter while using an Internet-connected tech device, Retina-X Studios recently released an easy-to-read infographic which describes the following dangers: Cyberbullying, Sexting, Online Predators Pornography Data, theft, and important statistics related to the dangers are highlighted within the graphic.

For example, 42 percent of all children have been bullied online at some point. The infographic also provides parents with useful tips to combat each type of danger. For example, these tips are offered for parents whom suspect cyberbullying.
