The new hands free driving legislation introduced in U.S. recently is no doubt aimed at reducing the number of accidents that happen due to drivers talking on mobile devices while driving. But at the same time, truck drivers, who are often driving long periods of time, need to communicate with others for business and personal reasons while driving.
Helping them with this problem, Cobra Electronics Corporation has announced that the company will introduce its new Wireless CB Microphone System and Bluetooth Headset at an upcoming event.
Offering an advanced boom mike with combined noise canceling technology, and a heavy-duty push-to-talk (PTT) button which keys the CB microphone, the new Wireless CB Microphone System (Model CA (News - Alert) BTCB4) includes a lightweight and ergonomic Bluetooth and RF-capable headset (compatible with virtually any Bluetooth-enabled cell phone). This will now allow professional drivers to safely conduct CB conversations wirelessly.
“Communicating with other drivers, business associates and loved ones is a fact of life for a professional driver, and in today's always-on, always-connected society, the needs and demands seem to grow every day," said Sally Washlow, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Cobra.
Adding, "The newly-enacted hands-free driving legislation for truck drivers is now another fact of life, and Cobra Electronics is committed to helping our loyal trucker community with smart, convenient and affordable solutions.”
Recently, the company unveiled Cobra 8000 Pro HD, a GPS navigation system. The new 8000 Pro HD sports a thin, lightweight and bright high-definition touchscreen display following on the heels of the Cobra 7750 Platinum navigation unit.
