Atmel (News - Alert) Corporation recently announced that its maXTouch mXT1664S controller will drive the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet touchscreen. Atmel's mXT1664S controller was selected by Samsung to ensure a superior touch experience for the 10.1-inch WXGA 1280 x 800 touchscreen display of the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet.
Atmel Corporation consists of industry specialists in microcontrollers and touch technologies.

The maXTouch technology has been developed by Amtel (News - Alert) to enable faster responses, lower device power consumption, higher levels of accuracy including reduced involuntary touches, and brighter displays with enhanced operation of noisy chargers.
The newly released Samsung Galaxy Note, which runs on Google's Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, has a 1.4GHz dual-core processor and features a 2GB of RAM (News - Alert), a 1.9-megapixel camera, in addition to support for proximity sensing and an S-Pen (active stylus) for writing.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is currently available in the U.S., and comes with 4G LTE (News - Alert) onboard and an optional Wi-Fi capability. The device also features a rear-facing 5MP camera and a front-facing 1.9MP camera for video chatting.
