Young gamers are always fascinated with versatile high-end gaming headsets featuring attractive designs.

In an effort to fulfill the wishes of avid gamers seeking a unique combination of high-quality audio performance, cutting-edge features and stylish aesthetics, Skullcandy, Inc. – a provider of audio and gaming headphones and other accessories – has rolled out a new line of wired and wireless gaming headsets – the Skullcandy SLYR, PLYR1 and PLYR2.

As a designer, marketer and distributor of gaming accessories, Skullcandy got its attention in the gaming market by introducing headphones, earbuds and other audio and wireless lifestyle products that feature style as well as performance.

According to Skullcandy, the new line of wired and wireless gaming headsets – SLYR, PLYR1 and PLYR2 – will provide players with distinct cross-platform options by functioning as a flexible console and mobile product, as a wireless stereo solution, or as a full spatial audio delivered with Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound.

The Skullcandy SLYR – known as "Slayer" – is a wired headset offering precision stereo gaming audio with cross-compatibility with Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U and PC as well as most smartphones, tablets and MP3 players.

Some of the key features of the new Skullcandy SLYR headset include a stashable boom mic, the GMX in-line mixer with volume and game-to-voice balancing controls, and custom audio profiles for games, movies and music.

The Skullcandy SLYR is now available in the market in black color for $79.99, directly through the company's website or through the company’s retail partners that include Gamestop, Target (News - Alert) and Best Buy online.

Other two new headsets, include the Skullcandy PLYR2 ("Player 2") and the Skullcandy PLYR1 ("Player 1"). The PLYR2, which will be available later this year for $129.99, is the brand's first-ever wireless stereo headset featuring 2.4Ghz wireless technology and cross-platform support.

The Skullcandy PLYR1 will become available in early 2013 for a price of $179.99. This headset utilizes 2.4Ghz wireless audio, but will enhance the users’ experience further with the addition of Dolby 7.1 Surround Sound.

"Skullcandy has been delivering performance audio products with a unique perspective on action sports and music culture for years," Jeremy Andrus, CEO at Skullcandy, said in a statement. "Gaming connects everyone we work with, from skateboarders to NBA superstars. The authenticity and attitude of the Skullcandy brand is the driving force behind our gaming mantra, 'Never Retreat, Never Surrender,' and is the inspiration for our new series of gaming headsets.”

“All three products were also designed and developed cooperatively with our premium gaming headset market leader, ASTRO Gaming," he added.

In recent news, Skullcandy announced a new headphone customization program called “Edit.” This initiative provides a unique opportunity for customers to become designers, and allows them to personalize Aviator headphones directly from the comfort of their own home via the Skullcandy website.
