As the event’s official electronics partner, LG Electronics (News - Alert) is going to spice up this year’s Food Network New York City Wine & Food Festival with a slew of innovative products ranging from home appliances and home entertainment products to mobile phones. Presented by FOOD & WINE, the show is expected to offer a unique blending of gastronomy and innovation for the connoisseurs of fine living.
LG's smart kitchens and electronics stations will be displayed at the six prominent corners of the festival venues. In addition, there will be on-site games and activities for attendees too. All the demos are intended to reflect the company’s commitment to improving consumers’ lives through innovations.
The electronics giant will be there supporting a greater cause. In a variety of ways throughout the festival, LG will be supporting Share Our Strength, a major philanthropic partner of the festival that seeks to eradicate child hunger.
The event, now in its fifth year, has raised more than $5 million to benefit the Food Bank for New York City and Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry campaign.
All three Festival venues in lower Manhattan will feature advanced technologies provided by LG Electronics USA. And afew start-studded events will take place at the Festival's trendy SoHo location at 82 Mercer St., while "Fun and Fit in the City" will take place at the festival's unique Basketball City (Pier 36) space on the Lower East Side.
At both locations, celebrity chefs will take part in various cooking shows, where they will be using LG’s time-saving kitchen appliances to show off their superior performance, convenience and ease of use.
Additionally, products that will be included in the show include the Blast Chiller, a feature of LG's French Door Refrigerator, which cools a room temperature 750 ml bottle of wine in eight minutes or a 12 oz beverage can in five minutes. Cooking innovations highlighted will include a large-capacity full oven and range with LG's Infrared Grill system for quicker heating and juicier food, while cutting cooking time by more than 20 percent for chefs, both professional and at-home.
“The Festival is the ideal place to share LG innovations with a sophisticated audience seeking the latest in culinary technology. We strive to enhance everyday life for families—whether it's the increased capacity in our newest fridges, added time-savings with our quick-cooking ovens, recipe sharing with LG smartphones, or the amazing viewing experiences on our Smart TV's. We listen to what consumers want, and create products that meet – and often exceed – those needs,” James Fishler, senior vice president of Marketing at LG Electronics USA, noted in a statement.
