One of the most recognized names in protection cases for mobile phones, Otterbox, has bought out the protective film wrap company Wrapsol. This new addition for Otterbox will prove to keep Otterbox in their market position at the top of the phone protection industry.
Otterbox’s president and CEO, Brian Thomas is proud of their new acquisition, calling Wrapsol a “promising company” with “similar values and similar culture” whose product “aligns with the OtterBox mission of complete, premium device protection”.
He said of the acquisition, “Adding Wrapsol to the OtterBox portfolio of world-class protection significantly enhances our ability to provide our customers and consumers an expanded variety of high-quality products."
Brett Webster, the vice president of sales for Wrapsol shares in Thomas’s enthusiasm;"Joining the OtterBox family is a great opportunity for Wrapsol and its employees. We're excited to integrate our product lines and give our employees a chance to join another world-class team.”
Wrapsol has been known for their numerous lines of screen protectors for mobile devices: the Original, for impact and scratch resistance; the Ultra screen and back protectors; the Clean for fingerprint and glare reduction; the Privacy protector for guarding images and text used on-screen; and the Grip Pad screen to help avoid accidental dropping.
Otterbox has been synonymous with mobile device protection since its conception. They currently make cases for Apple (News - Alert), Blackberry, Dell, HTC, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung, and various other mobile phones and tablets.
Otterbox has six separate lines of protection for mobile devices: the Defender series, which has three layers of protection for devices, a built-in screen protector, and comes with a swivel holster; the Commuter series, which has two layers of protection and a self-adhesive screen protector; the Reflex series, which comes with a self-adhesive screen protector, easily removed, and is able to remain attached while on a charging dock; the Prefix series, which is made of silicon with a polycarbonate skeleton and comes with a self-adhesive screen protector; the Impact series, which uses non-sliding silicon and comes with a screen protector; and finally, the Pursuit, which is actually a waterproof, dry box to put your mobile phone in along with other personal items, depending on the size.
This new acquisition will, no doubt, make consumers happy.
