Energy Telecom Protects the Worker

Energy Telecom, formally known as The Energy Corp was founded in 1993. In 1996, they filed their first patent to create a new type of personal communications system. Since those early days, the founder of the company, Thomas M. Richards IV, focused the company’s attention to expand from personal communications systems to supporting the needs of the emergency, security and industrial environments.

On December 4, 2012, Energy Telecom announced that its telecommunication eyewear would be available for sale by Honeywell (News - Alert) Safety Products. On December 3rd, Honeywell stated “Today, Honeywell Safety Products introduced UVEX AcoustiMaxx Stereo Bluetooth eyewear, an all-in-one solution combining maximum impact protection with hands-free voice communication.” They have already filed a multi-claim utility patent application.

The president of Energy Telecom, Tom Rickards is quoted as saying “We are pleased that a company with the technical vision and market penetration demonstrated by Honeywell Safety Products would introduce telecommunication eyewear incorporating our protected patents in Germany, Great Britain, France, Spain, Italy, the U.S., Canada, Australia and the People’s Republic of China.”

Mr. Rickards goes on to say, “We must provide our partners that make, distribute and sell our popular eyewear, with the best innovations and global intellectual property protection possible.” With that in mind, what needs and deserves more protection than our eyes and ears. Speaking as a carpenter and woodworker, I cannot express the importance of this protection. Believe me when I tell you how long it takes the ringing in your ears or that tiny little scratch on your eye to go away.

Now if you thought that the eye and ear protection is all that this eyewear does, you would be wrong. The eyewear is also equipped with Bluetooth. This means that everyone at a worksite would not only benefit from having the previously mentioned protection, but they have the additional protection of being able to be in constant communication with their fellow workers, hands free.

Depending on the individual need, there are a variety of models available. The eyewear will be worn by police, fire, rescue, military and security personnel. The eyewear is not only for protection, it can also be used for convenience. It can be used for voice by those using smartphones or it can be used to listen to high fidelity streaming stereos.

While the importance of all these benefits makes the eyewear impressive, let us not forget one more important factor. They look really cool!
