It’s an undeniable fact that we live in a highly connected world. As a result, professionals and individuals often find themselves checking their e-mails, text messages, and calls on their mobile device on a nearly obsessive basis. In fact, a 2012 study revealed that the average person glances at their phone 150 times per day.

Recognizing this, AT&T (News - Alert) has made the process simpler, eliminating the need to dig through pockets and purses with its new COOKOO watch, which it showcased at CES in Las Vegas. The watch alerts users when they have incoming calls, missed calls, Facebook (News - Alert) notifications, calendar reminders, and when the battery is running low on their iPhone or iPad.

Currently, the watch is only available for users who have the iPhone (News - Alert) 5, iPhone 4S, and third and fourth generation iPads with iOS 5 or iOS 6. In order to use the watch, users must first download the COOKOO app to their device and connect the watch to their device.

For those who worry that COOKOO might keep them more connected than they want to be, the watchmaker has provided the capability to turn the notifications received on and off, so that users only receive the notifications that they want. Beside the benefits of not having missed calls and messages, users can inconspicuously glance at their watch for updates, rather than rummaging around for their phone, allowing them to look less distracted, whether they are in a business meeting or a dinner date.

COOKOO is offered in eye-catching shades of hot pink and blue, as well as being offered in black and in white. The watches are currently available at the AT&T flagship store on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago. CES (News - Alert) conventioneers can see the watch for themselves by visiting the North Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth Number 6030.
