Interactive Procurement Technologies by BidNet (IPT) announced a new version of the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System network.
IPT develops and manages online government purchasing systems, enabling the easy bidding and sharing of resources, as well as vendor management. It serves 700 government agencies, 8,000 purchasing officials and more than 100,000 vendors through 19 e-procurement networks across the country.
“The enhancements made to our e-procurement system leverages process automation and shared resources to make it easier for the agencies to optimize their efficiency while cutting costs,” said IPT vice president Dan Ansell.
“The Cooperative Purchasing new feature is especially helpful to agencies looking to lower costs through aggregated quantities with other agencies for higher volume purchases,” Ansell added.
It was revealed that Colorado, Wyoming and other Rocky Mountain Region state and local government resources have reduced owing to tightened budgets. Agencies are forced to achieve more with fewer resources.
The newly enhanced network is expected to help local government agencies in the Rocky Mountain Region to decrease procurement costs significantly. IPT has also launched a much improved website on behalf of the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System’s 1,020 government agency departments.
This website acts as an optimized online platform that will benefit local agencies. They can easily streamline their procurement process and reduce costs.
In addition, vendors will be encouraged to do business with the government, since the process is simplified.
The local governments’ e-procurement system will benefit from the new system architecture; simplified NIGP code selection process; community discussion forum and cooperative purchasing. Also featured in the website are electronic bid submission capabilities; additional vendor database integrity and contemporary website redesign, officials said.
The procurement system lets users leverage shared resources besides also enabling government agencies to benefit from greater process transparency.
“Agencies save money and their vendors get centralized access to bid opportunities; all players within the procurement cycle win,” Ansell added.
Recently, IPT launched a new version of the Michigan Inter-governmental Trade Network (MITN) Purchasing System, allowing local government agencies in Michigan to cut procurement costs.
