As technological advances continue to speed forward, more and more government entities are finding they need new and innovative ways to stay ahead of the curve. The Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai has found a way to handle their caseload when it comes to business registration and licensing service using a new smartphone application.
When it comes to agencies like Dubai’s DED, it can become somewhat difficult to manage and maintain such an unwieldy database of business licenses and their registration status. Commenting on the latest service enhancements in a recent statement, Mohammed Shael Al Saadi, CEO of DED’s Business Registration and Licensing BRL Sector, said the department focuses on keeping pace with the technological advances in Dubai and the UAE, chiefly to enhance the ease of doing business
This particular app has quite a few different features that make it easy to find a company’s trade name, the business license info, the recent activities that have been recorded by the DED as well as the status of any transactions going on with the business.
The DED is also tooting its own horn by pointing out that this is the first kind of application like this in the world. If this department has success using this kind of an application it would seem to be reasonable to assume that applications like this will catch on.
Al Saadi added that his department would be looking to make developments and additions to the app as the DED sees fit.
