Many military installations have relied on AtHoc’s unified notification systems for their emergency communication needs. Their award-winning EMNS (emergency mass notification systems) addresses the ideal solution to respond to emergency situations.
Earlier this year, in April, AtHoc’s Desktop Alert EMNS was deployed to enable alerts to be sent directly to desktop PCs. This AtHoc network-centric solution met the requirements for desktop alerting – in providing protection of base personnel in emergency cases.
Most recently, in October, the AtHoc IWSAlerts bi-directional network-centric emergency mass notification systems (EMNS), which is equipped with integrated enterprise-class monitoring for system integrity and reliability, was deployed at the U.S. Army Medical Command (MEDCOM) hospital at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA), Texas.
The AtHoc IWSAlerts system, which uses standard and open protocols including Common Alerting Protocol (CAP), XML and Web services, provides a solution for demanding defense and commercial organizations, to include the military, to alert thousands of employees at an installation.
Having such an emergency communication system that facilitates general assembly and announcements has proven valuable at DoD places. In fact, AtHoc’s EMNS system has not only been deployed at the largest Joint Base Organization hospital within the Department of Defense, but has been deployed at JBSA Army Medical Facilities and School, Ft. Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base and Randolph Air Force Base.
These AtHoc system deployments are designed to support personnel accountability – where alerts are tracked and reported in real-time on all personal communication channels, and offer protection – with immediate threat response, rapid communication and recall
Through a single unified IP-integrated interface, AtHoc IWSAlerts notification and emergency response system can report alerts across multiple, redundant channels and devices via the IP network: Audio/visual alerts can appear via telephony (cell, landline, VoIP), text messaging, networked computing devices, mobile devices, public address (PA) systems, and on other digital displays.
The AtHoc IWSAlerts system can also support flexible cloud deployment configurations. There are military commands today that have leveraged AtHoc's private cloud architecture to deliver alerts that spanned multiple locations and network domains.
AtHoc’s EMNS has helped meet the mass notification needs of military commands and localized facilities to quickly and accurately notify all personnel of threats; but, also having an EMNS in place has helped the military deploy a function and trustworthy system that meets DoD’s regulatory compliance and fulfills the Secretary of Defense mandate to obtain and have an EMNS in place by the 2014 deadline.
