Kratos (News - Alert) Defense & Security Solutions has announced that the company has won contracts totaling about $6.1 million. According to the contracts, the company will offer specialized products in support of certain National Security programs.
The company has stated that the equipment is being manufactured in a safe Kratos manufacturing facility. It has not revealed any more information about the contract because of customer-specific, program-related and other sensitivities.
Kratos Defense Engineering Solutions offers various solutions to complicated C5ISR, engineering and operational needs and problems. The company’s expert understanding of its client missions, along with the strategic location of its employees, allows it to provide inexpensive solutions suited to the company’s clients' specific needs and consistent with their evolving mission objectives.
Eric DeMarco, president and CEO of Kratos, commented, "As we begin 2013, approximately 70 percent of Kratos business is related to the manufacture, production or support of specialized or technology based products supporting United States or Allied Country's National Security priority areas. Additionally, a significant portion of Kratos business is focused on strategic platforms and programs, including unmanned aerial systems, ballistic missile defense, electronic warfare, satellite communications, and aerial targets or drones, where Kratos products are designed-in and critical to the overall system.”
Recently, the company announced that its Unmanned Systems Solutions (USS) division won contracts totaling about $8.7 million. According to the contract, the company will offer specialized ground equipment that supports two strategic unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) programs. The equipment is being manufactured in a safe Kratos manufacturing facility. With these contracts Kratos looks to support of various strategic UAV programs.
