id America is promoting its LED light-equipped portable charger, named the L.E.D., through a Kickstarter campaign.

The personal electronic accessories provider launched this project a week ago and is already experiencing success in the initiative.

The L.E.D. portable charger features a 5200mAh Lithium-ion battery and boasts a combination of a portable charger for personal electronic devices as well as an adjustable LED lamp.

"We're known for creating products that are different from the offerings that currently exist," said Abraham Yoon, project host for the L.E.D. "Our goal is to simplify the means of charging while also providing the public with an affordable and functional alternative to mainstream charging products."

id America points out that the product is equipped with a 5V1A microUSB input and can charge several personal electronic devices to full capacity at their highest charging rate.

While this 5V1A microUSB input is used to charge itself, users can plug in personal electronic devices and charge them through a separate 5V2A USB output port.

Thanks to the 2A port, the L.E.D. can charge full-size tablets at their maximum charging rate.

The L.E.D charger features three separate LED bulbs, and includes two charging docks per charger. The charger is offered in a stylish aircraft-grade aluminum casing, which provides shock-resistant support to the product.

"With the L.E.D. portable charger, we're aiming to combine necessity, functionality and style, all at an affordable price point," said Yoon. "There are many chargers on the market that are overpowered and, as a result, overpriced. The L.E.D is capable of charging devices at full speed and possesses a modern, sleek design, yet doesn't break the consumer's budget."

Demand for portable routers has increased in recent years. Earlier this year, networking solutions provider D-Link (News - Alert) announced the availability of its first portable 11AC router, the Wi-Fi AC750 Portable Router and Charger (DIR-510L).
