CSRware's Alonardo Explains ROI in Green, Sustainable ERP Practices

At a recent event in San Jose, TMC’s Group Editorial Director Erik Linask (News - Alert) had the opportunity to interview Karen Alonardo, CSRware’s founder and CEO.

Describing their product as a “sustainability ERP” offering, Alonardo said it’s a cloud-based offering to help companies optimize their financials as regards to such green concerns as energy efficiency, water, waste and greenhouse gas emissions.

She mentioned how the product helps not only internally, but also out to the supply chain. And it’s not just a question of "okay, bottom line, what was our energy bill this month?", as she said there can be quite granular analyses made, rather sophisticated metrics used to determine where greater savings could be had.

About a year ago TMC had the news that CSRware (News - Alert) announced a strategic global partnership with Emergent Ventures International to allow EVI and CSRware to provide organizations with a complete service, from initial assessments through a complete sustainability cycle incorporating repeatable data analytics software.

CSRware works with clients such as Bloomberg Financial, Juniper Networks, and Avaya (News - Alert) who have worldwide operations and require sustainability solutions that fully embrace local currency, measurements, policies, and regulations.

Alonardo said they can simplify the process of assessing energy usage, bringing together a lot of complex data into one central repository to find the financial benefits of “doing sustainability.”

Sure there’s a feel-good aspect to “doing green” in business Alonardo said, some companies were doing it to get a positive bump in branding, but after a few years the early adopters reported seeing genuine ROI and financial advantages to reducing energy consumption and making some other green tweaks. That word has gotten out, and Alonardo explains some other areas where companies can find savings.
