Truly "Green": TelcoBridges' Webinars Address Cost- and Energy-Savings in Data Centers

Cost-savings and so-called “green technologies” – services, products and special initiatives that do things like decrease power consumption, reduce carbon footprints, recycle consumer electronics devices and generally benefit Mother Earth – long have gone hand-in-hand.

Solutions in mobility and telepresence, for example, allow employees to work communicate without traveling, which reduces emissions while saving on airfare.

These days – with a down economy that has businesses looking to technology to cut expenses, and the rising profile of environmental initiatives – we’re hearing more and more green efforts that also save money.

This month, one Montreal-based supplier of hardware and software for telecom system integrators and solution developers launched a program that’s designed to help service providers save money on communications while reducing their carbon footprints. True to the emerging “hand-in-hand” model, TelcoBridges’ program – called “TCOGreen” – focuses on energy savings. (“TCO” is short for “Total Cost of Ownership.”)

The program (described in full in this white paper), addresses today’s economic conditions as well as environmental concerns, according to TelcoBridges’ (News - Alert) vice president of marketing, Danny Paul Blouin.

“The telecom industry can make a difference by operating more efficiently, and by eliminating unnecessary energy consumption in data centers,” Blouin said.

To drive home that point, TelcoBridges is hosting free Webinars in the first week of June that focus on helping service providers minimize the total costs of their telecom systems – while reducing their carbon emissions – through the company’s own so-called “Green IT Architecture.”

Register here for the North American session of “TCOGreen: The Green Total Cost of Ownership,” to be held on Wednesday, June 3, from 2 to 2:45 p.m. Eastern.

And register here for the Asian session of “TCOGreen: The Green Total Cost of Ownership,” to be held on Thursday, June 4, from 10 to 10:45 Hong Kong Time.

Led by Kenneth Trueman – TelcoBridges’ director of product marketing – as well as TMC Group Managing Editor Erik Linask (News - Alert), the Webinar focuses on solutions that can drive real, measureable improvement to a company’s bottom line, such as media gateway solutions that can save up to 80 percent more energy and cooling requirements, and options to add capacity and capabilities to a network in less space/rack units.
