ViewSonic PC Display Products to Go Green with LED by 2011

Walnut, Calif.-based provider of computing, consumer electronics and communications solutions ViewSonic Corp. has reiterated its commitment to green computing by announcing that all its PC display products will be powered by LED technology by 2011. This move will help ViewSonic provide its customers an opportunity to save on energy costs but also to enjoy enhanced performance and contrast.

"Consumers are rapidly transitioning to LED display products because they allow for lower energy costs while delivering brilliant picture quality," said Jeff Volpe, vice president and general manager, ViewSonic Americas. "ViewSonic is leading the way towards a greener, more cost efficient future by delivering an array of green LED products for our customers to choose from."

In May, ViewSonic released the VX2250wm-LED, a 22" (21.5" vis.) LED monitor that strengthened the company’s position in the LED space. The company plans to unveil 3D LED displays in the days to come. It also continues to strengthen its ties with commercial partners who have standardized on specific CCFL displays
