Clothing retailers Brooks Brothers was able to transform their HR functions thanks to help from SAP (News - Alert). The company leveraged SAP’s SuccessFactors to improve their HR functions drastically.

Because of the companies’ uniquely dispersed workforce, it needed an HR solution that was flexible and made employees feel fulfilled with their work roles.

The HR system makes it possible to now find individual employees connected to sales or extraordinary experiences,  for example, and use that info to like deliver an appreciation call from a high-level company official.

Speaking of HR excellence, SAP also recently announced the winners of the 2016 HR Excellence Awards, which honors companies using SAP SuccessFactors HCM technology to drive ROI and achieve excellence at their companies.

Winners were placed into three categories: Better Business Results Award, People Pioneer Award and “All Heart” Award. Awards were given to Southwire Company and Canada Post, Cascades and Enersys respectively.

HR excellence is key, especially today with high turnover rates plaguing numerous industries and better care for employees becoming the requirement.

A feature this week by yours truly looks at how you can tell if your employees are getting ready to jump ship, why, and if you should care.

Things like what employees are doing on social media and who they are connecting with can provide clues into what their next move might be. There are even solutions in the market that monitor this. But is it really that important? Is it too invasive? Some are already thinking so.

The reality, however, is that some employers cannot risk the cost of high turnover so having these analytics will be necessary for success. Especially as millennials and Gen X take over the work world.
