This is a recap of the top stories posted this week related to Human Capital Management. Sit back and, while you enjoy your favorite beverage, catch up on all things HCM.

For anyone in charge of managing the workforce, scheduling can become difficult when planning time off requests and having to adjust to seasonal peaks.

A guest feature this week by Steve Sikora, Project Manager, AEGIS, looks at how it can be easier to manage time off requests for organizations.

Sikora writes that organizations will benefit from an automated, centralized approached to managing PTO requests. Instead of manual handwritten requests for time off, a better solution is to replace them with more cutting edge technologies like a custom out-of-office (OOO) application. That’s exactly what AEGIS Insurance Services did when it turned to ServiceNow (News - Alert). Read more HERE.

In more scheduling related news, Brazen, a provider of chat software, has announced it added chat-based tools to make it easier for employers to schedule chat sessions. The hope is also that these new tools will help to drive recruitment efforts.

The offering provides both single sign-on (SSO) and easy APIs, so it’s possible to better engage with candidates via Web chat in real-time – whether they are located at a distance or convenience is needed.

“Driven by our mission to provide clients with greater control, simplicity and connectivity, the development of our API further transforms how employers use chat-based recruiting to find their next great hires. By linking data from Brazen directly to their back-office systems and cloud services, employers benefit from a streamlined approach to build on the relationships formed during online events and accelerate the hiring process,” said Brazen CEO Ed Barrientos.

Also this week, Virgin Pulse (News - Alert), a provider of employee wellbeing software announced its next gen Virgin Pulse Hub – a portal that connects employees with HR tools.

With the easy to use solution, businesses can increase HR program awareness, and make it easier for employees to utilize the benefits.

Finally, the big news this week is that SAP (News - Alert) SE has landed five new clients for its cloud-based SuccessFactors HCM Solutions.

Located across the world, the new members include: Germany-based engineering and services firm Bilfinger SE, Brazilian credit and debit card operator Cielo S.A., Chinese cosmetic enterprise company Guangzhou Uniasia Cosmetics Technology, Singapore’s retailer NTUC Fairprice Co-Operative Limited and China-based rental car company UCAR Inc.

That’s all for this week. Be sure to check back for all the latest in HCM news as it happens. Until next week…
