Provider of gaming peripherals SteelSeries has announced the availability of licensed headsets for Electronic Arts’ first person shooter game, Medal of Honor.
Co-developed with Electronic Arts for Medal of Honor gamers, the SteelSeries 5Hv2 Headset Medal of Honor Edition for PC and the SteelSeries Spectrum (News - Alert) 5xb Medal of Honor Edition for Xbox 360 headsets are the newest addition to the family of SteelSeries branded peripherals.
The company worked with the EA team to optimize and create an “amazing design” for these new PC and Xbox 360 headsets, said Bruce Hawver, CEO at SteelSeries, adding that Medal of Honor players will enjoy comfort and incredible sound reproduction, improving their precision and performance in game.
The new headsets come with the company’s signature features such as a retractable microphone system and the ability to dismantle into three pieces for safe travel. The SteelSeries 5Hv2 Medal of Honor Edition for PC has an optimized soundscape for gaming in a hear-through, cloth ear-cup design. To Xbox 360 players, the SteelSeries Spectrum 5xb Medal of Honor Edition presents an advanced soundscape. Company officials said that this enables the player to pinpoint directional sounds of footsteps and weapon fire without being drowned out by the deep bass from explosions.
Plus, the AudioMixer provides easy access to independent audio and voice controls, enhancing the audio experience. The quick-button option SteelSeries LiveMix balances Xbox LIVE chat with in-game audio. Company officials said that this makes sure that the voice communication is mixed “perfectly” with the sounds of gunfire and explosions, without having to increase the volume of the headset.The SteelSeries Spectrum 5xb Medal of Honor Edition and the SteelSeries 5Hv2 Medal of Honor Edition are expected to be available in late Q2.
Earlier in March, SteelSeries announced the availability of SteelSeries 7H and Siberia v2 Headsets for music lovers and mobile gamers to use with their iPod, iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad.
