Jabra Forges ahead in Unified Communications with New Voice Series Headsets

By Juliana Kenny, TMCnet Managing Editor

“We have almost 8 million people using unified communications today, and that number is expected to skyrocket to 15 million by 2015,” stated Mogens Elsberg, CEO of Jabra (News - Alert), this morning in a globally-issued webcast. Elsberg emphasized this enormous anticipated increase in unified communications users to prep the audience for the announcement that Jabra is issuing a line of headsets specifically designed for easy unified communications deployment.

Elsberg made a point to say that the growth of communication and collaboration amongst office employees has witnessed developments the likes of which the headset industry has not seen before, and Jabra is making significant changes to adapt to these developments.

The voice and audio quality aspects of unified communications solutions are becoming the focal points of decisions that IT managers and other business owners make when choosing headsets for employees. Anticipating and reacting to this trend, Jabra released the UC Voice Series of headsets featuring outstanding sound clarity, portability, and ease-of-use.

“We have to focus on fast user adoption,” Elsberg said. “This is a culture change for employees. We have to provide headsets and solutions that ensure seamless integration without any end user involvement. We have to focus our headsets development around the end users to ensure fast user adoption from the start.”

Merete Bratsbjerg, global director of Product Management for Jabra then took the floor to elaborate on the new headsets in the Voice Series. She said that the company spent quite a bit of time talking to IT managers to try to find out what the most important factors are for them when installing unified communications solutions.

Amongst several factors lay price, ease of use, and ease of implementation, and Jabra’s latest line is designed to address all of these factors.

With so many users getting on board with unified communications, “the mission is no longer to raise awareness, it is to raise the bar,” stated Elsberg.
