MacBook Pros Getting Refreshed with Bluetooth 4.0?

By Oliver VanDervoort, Contributing Writer

While the MacBook has long been one of the best known laptops out there, rumors are flying that it is actually about to get a lot better. According to the newest rumors, Apple (News - Alert) is getting set to refresh its MacBook Pro line with a couple of great new features that include the newest kind of Bluetooth technology. Of course, because of this reset, the MacBooks themselves are actually seeing some interesting sales numbers as some stores are pausing  their orders to see what Apple is going to do with the laptops.

It doesn’t appear that the halting of the orders are not going to have to be stopped for very long, as the new MacBook Pros appear ready to be shipped relatively soon. According to several reports, the newest Pros are already in the Apple inventory and simply need to be loaded onto trucks. One of the cool new features that is being talked about is the adding of Bluetooth 4.0 to the computer which could be a way to put a Siri assistant on the computer. Siri is of course the coolest new toy that the iPhone (News - Alert) 4S is featuring. Siri works using high level voice commands as a sort of personal assistant to find or make appointments as well as a host of other features.

Of course, Bluetooth 4.0 is also a great new feature because it would mean that the refreshed MacBook Pro would need quite a bit less power in order to run. This, in turn would mean that devices could remain communicating with each other using Bluetooth 4.0 quite a bit longer than the most common Bluetooth links. This particular change would also bring the MacBook Pro in line with the MacBook Mini and the MacBook Air which already come compatible with the newest Bluetooth technology.

Of course, the best of both worlds, would be a quick and easy way of allowing your iPhone 4S to actually control your MacBook Pro using the Bluetooh 4.0 connection and Siri. Imagine needing to open a document not supported on the iPhone 4S and doing it without the need to click through a bunch of files. Instead you can access the doc or an area of the laptop simply by speaking into your iPhone. There are quite a few possibilities coming down the pike.
