Servo Software reportedly has announced the distribution of its new Device Search product that is featured on the home screen of China Mobile's (News - Alert) new OPhone platform.
The OPhone platform is based on Google's Android (News - Alert) and is a key part of China Mobile's smartphone strategy. China Mobile picked Servo as a key part of the OPhone User Interface (UI) because of its powerful integrated Device Search.
A number of popular handset manufacturers such as LG have already built OPhones for China Mobile and other major manufacturers including Motorola, Samsung (News - Alert) and ZTE are soon going to follow.
Servo’s search bar will be featured on all OPhones, and create a single access point for users by combining Servo's powerful Device Search and traditional Internet Search. Consumers are generating and storing more information on their mobile handsets these days, noted Servo. Servo Device Search helps them to easily find and discover any piece of information, data or digital content on their devices.
The same search bar allows users to search for anything on the Internet, using traditional search engines. Servo says a combination of these search features with an intuitive UI will increase the search frequency of end users.
Christof Wittig, founder and CEO of Servo Software pointed out the growing unaddressed need of consumers, carriers and handset manufacturers for Device Search on handsets.
Many innovative carriers and handset manufacturers are partnering with Servo to address that need, said Wittig who sees this agreement marking the major distribution of Servo's first product.
Wittig is confident that this carrier-grade solution will manage wireless user data in a novel fashion and informs that in the near future, they will launch more exciting products, with more partners to bring Servo's lineup of products and services to users anywhere in the world.
