Cricket Communications, a provider of affordable wireless services, and Kyocera Communications, a provider of Kyocera (News - Alert) - and Sanyo-branded wireless devices, have stated that users can now buy the Kyocera Domino (S1310) mobile phones at Cricket retail stores nationwide, licensed Cricket dealers and the Cricket’s Site.

The Domino is a bar-style phone that has in-built features for standard web browsing, SMS messaging, Bluetooth connectivity, and voice memo recording. It is supposed to replace the Kyocera S1300 in Cricket’s portfolio and it embodies affordable functionality, with enhanced features like an improved keypad, Bluetooth capabilities and a stylish new champagne-gold color scheme with magma–hued accents.

The new mobile phone which runs on a 700 mAh LiIon battery offers a maximum talk time of 3.3 hours and a maximum standby time of 200 hours. The S1310 is HAC-compliant and supports TTY/TDD for the hearing-impaired and it is also enabled with WAP for standard Web browsing, as well as downloading of ringtones, graphics and Cricket games and apps.

Matt Stoiber, vice president and general manager of devices for Cricket has commented that the new phone is perfect for their customers who want a stylish, user-friendly mobile phone that offers everything they need at a very affordable price. The Domino strengthens Cricket’s already versatile handset portfolio, as the company prepares to expand the line-up even further with the upcoming launch of smartphones before year’s end.

Eric Anderson, vice president of sales at Kyocera Communications added that Kyocera and Cricket enjoyed great success with the Kyocera S1300, the predecessor to the Domino, and they’ve improved on that device to pack the Domino with even more features, but at the same low price point. For customers who want a highly functional and dependable phone at an entry-level price, the Domino is an ideal fit.
