Apple plans to release a high-definition television in the first quarter of 2012, according to an Apple Insider report, which claims to have insider intel from a Wall Street analyst. When and if that day comes could threaten cable and satellite companies, as streaming services take off. According to the Apple Insider report, an industry analyst reached out to Apple investors over the weekend, providing detailed information of the HDTV product based on his attendance at several developer events.

GolTV an independent bilingual channel in the United States delivering the popular international futbol announced the launch of GolTV HD on AT&T U-verse TV.

International programming and movie channels will be accessible for AT&T's U-verse TV customers. U-verse has made ten new channels available to its customers, in which five are High Definition channels. As compared to its competitors, U-verse TV has more HD channels. U-verse TV has now introduced FOX Soccer HD, FOX Sports Arizona HD, fuse HD, GolTV HD, and Nat Geo WILD HD with qualifying HD packages. U200 Latino and Paquete Espanol subscribers can now avail the Spanish-language channel Nat Geo Mundo and Utilisima. Subscribers of the U300 package can also view ENCORE ESPANOL and MOVIEPLEX, a part of the Starz Movie Package offering.
