Atempo, a provider of cross-platform data protection and archiving solutions, has announced that its Atempo Digital Archive (ADA) has been integrated and certified with Harmonic’s (News - Alert) Omneon MediaGrid, simplifying and streamlining broadcast workflows.
Archived content ranging from newly ingested footage to completed project will be easily accessible through Harmonic's scalable high-performance shared storage system due to the validation of ADA with Omneon MediaGrid. The access of archived contents will be for both, immediate use and long-term preservation.
ADA provides an open, centrally managed and secure archive. Apart from addressing long-term data retention requirements, ADA also optimizes capacity during exponential data growth. High performance centralized storage with a massively scalable architecture is provided by the Omneon MediaGrid storage system. The growing storage requirements of digital media workflows are met as petabytes of storage capacity with tens of gigabytes per second of bandwidth are delivered.
In a release, Herve Collard, director of product management at Atempo, said, "For the accelerated workflows of video production, high performance file delivery to the various steps in the workflow is key. By utilizing Atempo Digital Archive and Omneon MediaGrid together, creative professionals gain the efficiency of high-bandwidth delivery from a scalable shared storage system that now extends to files stored in the digital archive."
According to Ravi Parthasarathy, senior director of MediaGrid product management at Harmonic, a customized digital workflow for broadcast and post production markets is created and maintained with the help of the integrated Atempo Digital Archive and Omneon MediaGrid.
"MediaGrid makes it simple for clients to pinpoint storage objectives specific to projects at hand and then add only the required components needed to scale their individual needs. Simultaneously, ADA eliminates bottlenecks, ensuring that specific content is readily available and accessible from the archive at any point in the workflow," Parthasarathy said.
Organizations are able to preserve and protect digital information simply and effectively with help from Atempo. Thousands of customers around the world are served by Atempo through a sales and support network of over 200 resellers and partners.
