Seamless integration between various consumer devices has developed a buzz in today’s technology world. Innovative solutions are being developed everyday to enable the users connect various technology based devices to realize enhanced benefits.
Cavium, Inc., a provider of integrated semiconductor products for enabling intelligent processing in networking, communications and the digital home, has introduced a new solution that it has developed in partnership with Qualcomm (News

The company offers a variety of integrated, software-compatible processors that range in performance from 10 Mbps to over 40 Gbps and ensure secure, intelligent functionality within enterprise, data-center, broadband, consumer and access and service provider equipment. The San Jose, California-based company receives support from its ecosystem partners that provide operating systems, tool support, reference designs and other services.
Named “Tiga-Mini,” the new adapter allows consumers to project a variety of visual content to their large screen TV sets to ensure an enhanced viewing. This visual content might be originated from local hard drives, or might be wirelessly streamed through a number of consumer electronics devices such as notebooks, tablets, smartphones and other mobile CE devices. The adapter has been developed as an easily portable solution; hence it can conveniently be deployed as a wireless display TV adapter for mobile devices.
Powered by the PureVu CNW6611L media System on a Chip, Tiga-Mini offers full HD 1080p performance, HDCP 2.0 and DTCP premium content protection and is equipped with the low latency video processing functionality of Cavium. The adapter comprises of Qualcomm Atheros’ (News

Further, both the media SoC and the Wi-Fi chipset of Tiga-Mini feature an extremely low power design and don’t need to be provided with external power supply as the device can be powered by a regular USB port of the computer.
“Wireless sharing of media around the home is an emerging application of high interest to a wide array of consumer electronics OEMs and application providers,” commented Gary Szilagyi, vice president and general manager of consumer electronics at Qualcomm Atheros. “The new low-cost adapter from Cavium, which is optimally designed to address this application, is a result of close collaboration between Cavium and Qualcomm Atheros teams to enable high-quality and robust content delivery with our Wi-Fi chipset and Cavium’s advanced media SoC.”
Earlier this month, Cavium Inc. announced a technology and marketing collaboration with Intel (News
