When you are talking about the tech industry, Coca-Cola is not usually a company that will come up in conversation all that much. When you are talking about some of the most profitable retail businesses in the world however, Coke will come up almost every time. The soft drink maker was recently highlighted at the 2011 National Retail Federation's 101st Annual Convention and Expo.
At the NRF Convention, it was revealed that Coke has been working with digital signage company YCD in order to come up with a new and innovative display to match the times of the 21st century. YCD Multimedia announced it has actually come up with a new kind of wireless digital signage solution that it had on display at the NRF event and that was designed specifically for the popular soft drink maker.
This new kind of digital signage relies heavily on second generation Intel (News - Alert) CoreTM i5 processors and makes this particular signage more flexible and easily deployable. This digital wireless signage is a kind device that will allow even easier store placement. The signage will be geared at featuring Coke products while costing less and demanding less cabling when it is installed.
This mobile digital signage is geared to play different video and audio clips that will feature the Coca-Cola products but because it is wireless, there is no need to make sure that it is connected to a LAN with a wire. This means the signs can be placed anywhere in a store, giving the store operators more flexibility with his or her products.
YCD Multimedia said that their new digital mobile signage will allow stores who choose to allow these kinds of advertisements flexibility they have never had before. YCD Multimedia also added that their partnership with a company like Intel underscores how they are willing to do what it takes to give retailers the flexibility they so desperately crave when it comes to in-store advertisements and displays.
