The market for retail and consumer interactive solutions is growing tremendously. In an effort continue to provide newer options to the growing market for interactivity and in turn provide customers with a more sensitive touchscreen experience, TE Connectivity (News - Alert) – a provider of touchscreen solutions – unveiled its largest Interactive Digital Signage (IDS) touchscreen display, the Elo TouchSystems 5500L.
Apart from a new IDS touchscreen display, TE Connectivity has also announced enhancement to existing models with innovative optical multi-touch and IntelliTouch surface acoustic wave (SAW) touchscreen technologies.
IDS displays are suited for a variety of hospitality, casino gaming, healthcare and retail settings where customers engagement plays a key role. Offering interaction with a more sensitive touchscreen provides customers with a richer experience. With the latest technologies, even end-customer engagement can be measured in real time to provide valuable data to marketers.
Available with either optical multi-touch or IntelliTouch SAW touchscreens, TE Connectivity’s new Elo TouchSystems 5500L 55-inch touch display is thinner than existing IDS displays and compatible with optional computer modules.
In addition to the 5500L, TE Connectivity has also enhanced the 4200L and 4600L IDS models with optical multi-touch technology. The 4200L is a 42-inch display while 4600L is a 46-inch IDS display. These IDS displays have been designed specifically for demanding applications such as shopping malls, retail outlets, hotels and public venues.
Delivering the most rugged touch solutions that are able to perform and withstand the rigors of public applications and environments, the new Elo TouchSystems products have been built on commercial-grade components so that they last longer than alternative consumer-grade products.
According to TE Connectivity, Elo TouchSystems IDS displays are hard-wearing and stylish, thereby making them ideal for "Out-of-Home" public locations that intercept prospects and customers in high traffic paths with interactive messaging.
"We are very excited to launch our newest IDS touch display, leveraging the same reliability and quality Elo TouchSystems touch products are famous for. Touchscreens on Elo IDS displays are fully integrated at the factory and not added ‘aftermarket.’ This means customers get a 'designed for touch,’ commercial grade display platform." said Neeraj Pendse, global product line manager at TE Touch Solutions, in a statement. "By adding optical multi-touch functionality to the already existing 4200L and 4600L displays, we are providing customers with a wide breadth of cost-effective interactive display options."
In recent news as reported by TMCnet, TE Connectivity had unveiled a new indoor Passive Optical Network (PON) cabling solution. In addition, the company had announced that its newly released plug-and-play cabling solution is one of the most green and OPEX (News - Alert)-friendly solutions in the market.
