Syabas Technology Inc. recently announced the expansion of the Popcorn Hour Product line with the inclusion of the Popcorn Hour S-300 digital signage solution. The latest offering from Syabas has been designed as a small frame and robust digital signage solution which has been developed through the incorporation of the Sigma Design’s SMP8671 chipset technology.
The Popcorn Hour S-300 supports a small and fanless frame and delivers users with unique flexibility to showcase full 1080p HD video and photos. Along with video and photos and intact audio, the S-300 system provides additional support for weather, twitter, and RSS feeds within a multi-zone format.
The latest addition includes a 4GB USB drive allowing local storage and can offer users a centralized playlist on the network via the PC application playlists that can be customized to run according to the user’s preference.
In a release, Manfred Karl VP Sales EMEA region, said that, “The new Popcorn Hour S-300 offers so many opportunities due to its size, power, and connectivity, which makes it possible for anybody to easily create a professional digital signage solution at a very attractive price.”
Furthermore, the Popcorn Hour S-300 offers support for HDMI, VGA, and stereo analog audio output while the option for local storage can be availed via the two USB ports of the device. Content can be played by the S-300 through the 10/100Mbps LAN connection (WLAN optional) over the network.
The device also comes with an infra-red (IR) receiver along with a remote control that makes local operation of the S-300 easy for users. Syabas's latest offering retails at around $300 (including VAT) in the European Union while across other markets the device retails at $219. Availability of the Popcorn Hour S-300 has been scheduled for April 2012.
