Wyse Technology Powers Digital Signage, In-Store Advertising for Clients

Wyse Technology announced that several organizations like banks, retailers, airports and universities are leveraging Wyse cloud client computing solutions to power their digital signage, in-store advertising and retail kiosks.

Wyse, a provider of cloud client computing solutions, revealed that its customers use its cloud client computing solutions for digital signage owing to the assured security, reliability and ease of management.

In a release Jeff McNaught, chief marketing and strategy officer at Wyse said, “Using a PC to power digital signage is like using a pneumatic nail gun to hang a picture frame, an overly complicated solution to a very simple scenario.”

“Digital signage is one of thousands of scenarios where PCs have been surpassed by simpler, more modern options. Wyse cloud client computing solutions bring more flexibility, affordability and reliability to organizations to meet their communications and advertising goals,” McNaught added.

In banking and retail Wyse cloud client computing solutions are used to power the backbone of on-site dynamic advertising platforms. The advertising system built on Wyse R class devices feature dynamic touch screens. The need for IT staff travel is eliminated besides also the need for paper brochures on banking products.

The Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) in California is using the Wyse V90LE for digital signage to deliver dynamic information for improving airline carriers’ service. Airports using this solution operate fewer gates to serve the air traffic needs.

In the case of universities, digital signage helps to communicate campus events to students, faculty, staff and visitors. It also helps in campus-wide emergency broadcast communications. The University of Nebraska at Omaha has deployed Wyse thin clients in the classrooms, conference rooms and labs. The Wyse C10LE device powers a touch screen display that gives a list of the schedule for the day and also broadcasts other announcements.

Wyse Technology cloud client computing solutions portfolio includes thin, zero and cloud PC client solutions with advanced management, desktop virtualization and cloud software that can be used on desktops, laptops and mobile devices.

In other news, Matrox Graphics Inc. recently announced its partnership with Wyse Technology and the Wyse validation of its Matrox Epica Series graphics cards for the new Wyse Z90DE7 thin client. The Matrox Epica TC20+ dual-monitor and Matrox Epica TC48 quad-monitor add-in boards bring enhanced functionality across a wider range of multi-display configurations to the high-performance Wyse Z90DE7 thin client while maintaining energy efficiency and key thermal requirements.

The new co-validated solution provides users with an optimal on-screen workspace experience for unprecedented productivity and workspace real-estate gains in demanding virtual desktop environments.
