A new mobile video application from DVTEL, INC. will now transform mobile smartphones into robust IP video surveillance cameras. The TruWitness mobile video application will turn the cell phone into a networked video surveillance camera capable of streaming video into the company’s Latitude Video Management System.
In a release, Yoav Stern, president and CEO of DVTEL, said that, “TruWitness is the first mobile application of its kind in the surveillance market. It allows responders to leverage smart devices to provide real-time visual reports of an incident, and stream the video and data to a central command center for on-the-spot decision making, dispatching, and resolution in a timely manner. TruWitness enhances situational awareness by putting a live camera on the scene to provide video evidence of a situation as it occurs, helping response teams decide what is needed, as the event evolves.”
TruWitness will allow users to harness the power of their smart devices for tasks such as streaming, recording and analyzing, as well as for reviewing and exporting video regardless of their location. The latest offering from DVTEL is available with the Latitude 6.2 VMS and functions over Wi-Fi, 3G/4G and LTE (News - Alert) networks.
The video application will enhance the situational awareness for security and operational teams as it provides them with increased mobility and offers coverage of surveillance networks even across areas where legacy cameras can’t perform.
Existing and new Latitude 6.2 users will be able to use TruWitness free of charge. The video application is supported on Android (News - Alert)- based smart phones that use OS version 2.2 and above.
Stern added, “DVTEL is committed to delivering solutions that enable users to have the flexibility necessary to enhance safety and quickly solve investigations, thus improving the efficiency of normal operations and procedures. DVTEL’s advanced technologies, such as TruWitness, allow our partners, and end customers to practically and seamlessly reach beyond traditional expectations to realize new levels of operational efficiencies and cost effective security applications for people and assets.”
