A Tier-1 European Mobile Operator has awarded a $2 million follow-on order to Procera Networks (News - Alert), Inc., the third order from the same contractor. Procera Networks is expecting the bulk of the revenue generated from this contract to be realized in the first quarter of 2012.
The order is proof of a substantial increase in subscribers who are increasingly looking at adopting PacketLogic solutions and increasing implementation of video optimization solutions to improve OTT video streaming management.
In a release, Paul Gracie, Procera's vice president of Sales, EMEA, said that, “Mobile operators are experiencing continued growth in smartphone usage that is driving new, personalized services. The ease of deploying new services with the PacketLogic Subscriber Manager (PSM), including subscriber and application-aware traffic steering for video optimization, is proving to be a strategic advantage for Procera customers.”
The Tier-1 mobile operator is also extending the adoption of PacketLogic solutions to enhance its subscriber service offerings by integrating personalized services with a video optimization solution. The integration which has already been applied across a number of select markets will now see network-wide deployment to help address the company’s expanding video traffic.
Additionally, the operator has included a number of new services by working along with Procera's Professional Services team over the design and deployment of solutions via the PSM platform.
The PSM solution has also allowed the operator to speed up time for developing and testing new service offerings in light of the rapidly changing landscape of the mobile applications market.
Cam Cullen, vice president of Global Marketing for Procera, said that, “The landscape for personalized services for mobile operators is evolving rapidly. Operators want to deploy personalized services that simultaneously benefit their subscribers and their network. Video optimization is a service that can reduce usage for subscribers and the network operator, and requires the advanced capabilities and insight that an Intelligent Policy Enforcement solution can provide.”
