Toshiba (News - Alert) American Information Systems, Inc., an independent operating company owned by Toshiba America, has rolled-out a new two-megapixel IP network dome camera, the Toshiba IK-WR14A, which is ideal for professional video surveillance, remote monitoring and management.
The Toshiba IK-WR14A is capable of reducing upfront installation time as well as expenses as it features remote optical zoom, one-touch remote focus, and a new cable management system based on time-saving Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Unlike standard IP cameras, where the lens has to be adjusted physically and monitored remotely, the IK-WR14A IP network dome camera features an unique remote optical zoom and one-touch auto focus system that permits the lens focusing process to be completed remotely on a laptop computer by a single technician, quickly and easily.
After the installation, the IK-WR14A IP network dome camera captures 1080p full HD resolution video at 30 frames-per-second in virtually any lighting condition, indoors or outdoors. The camera features a two-megapixel CMOS sensor in its imaging system. This provides the ability to capture the smallest of details. In addition, the camera also features a three times optical zoom lens system that offers an exceptionally wide angle of view.
Boasting a vandal-resistant IP66 outdoor metal housing, the ONVIF compliant IK-WR14A also features an upgraded cable management system. The camera’s electronic tamper-detection system senses whenever the lens has been blocked, spray painted, or redirected, and immediately responds with an email emergency notification.
ONVIF is an open industry forum for the development of a global standard for the interface of IP-based physical security products.
Built with a single Ethernet cable for power, control and data transfer, the PoE-based IK-WR14A camera is interoperable with a wide range of third-party IP solutions, as it is an ONVIF complaint device.
Apart from featuring two-way audio and H.264 space-saving compression, the IK-WR14A camera is built on SRLED (Single Reflection LED) technology that provides edge-to-edge lighting for night-vision down to 0 lux. This technology helps in capturing video in extreme lighting environments.
In addition, the IK-WR14A camera also features built-in day/night IR filters that remove unnecessary colors in near complete darkness for the sharpest black-and-white image.
