Hosted Exchange provider Intermedia, widely known for its feature-rich hosted Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange 2010, has been featured in Forrester Research Inc.’s March 2011 report entitled, “Market Overview: Cloud-Based E-mail Vendors,” which highlights 13 companies that are bringing unprecedented value to the cloud e-mail space.
The report taps Intermedia (News - Alert) as one of the three of the 13 vendors in the small and mid-size businesses target market category to be featured. According to the independent research firm’s report, these companies “are experts at running and tailoring Exchange and other e-mail and collaboration services for customers.”
In addition to Exchange 2010, Intermedia offers an innovative migration service from on-premise Exchange environments, extensive support for mobile devices, and big mailbox storage space that topples the competition. Other Microsoft products to fall under Intermedia’s portfolio include Office Communications Server 2007 and SharePoint.
Intermedia’s suite of cloud communications and collaboration services – which are all set up and managed from Intermedia’s HostPilot Control Panel -- consist of encrypted e-mail, online backup, hosted PBX (News - Alert), conference bridges, and comprehensive mobility support for the hottest smartphones on the market including BlackBerry (News - Alert), iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 7 and other devices.
“Intermedia's Exchange Concierge team migrates new customers to our cloud email service from their on-premise server,” said Jonathan McCormick, COO of Intermedia. “These customers are looking to safely transition their people, data, and existing email set-up into the cloud to the latest version of Exchange -- keeping customizations like their public folders intact. Intermedia enables them to do that.”

As reported by TMCnet, Intermedia recently introduced a free Single Sign-On application that grants users one-click access to services including Microsoft Outlook e-mail, Outlook Web Access, document management and instant messaging.
Intermedia also recently released compliance templates for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, which calls for healthcare organizations to safeguard patient information transmitted via e-mail.
