Apps4Rent recently announced the launch of an inexpensive business email hosting solution known as MobileSyncMail, which leverages the SmarterTools' SmarterMail platform. The new solution can now be used as an alternative to Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange. A Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Apps4Rent offers a wide range of hosted services including Microsoft SharePoint hosting, Virtual Servers and Hosted Desktops and Hosted Exchange 2010.

Although MobileSyncMail includes a number of features that are present in Microsoft Exchange, it can be installed for a minimum of $1.95/mailbox/month. Users have the option to choose their MobileSyncMail plan as each plan comes with different options including 5 GB mailboxes, POP3/IMAP/SMTP protocols, Outlook-like webmail and a web-based control panel, as well as compatibility with Research in Motion's BlackBerry (News - Alert) devices.

There are also plans that offer a free Exchange ActiveSync technology for synchronization of calendars, contacts, tasks, and email between Exchange ActiveSync enabled servers and devices.

In a release, Wade Dube, business manager at Apps4Rent said, “We are pleased to partner with SmarterTools to provide their SmarterMail mail server as part of the MobileSyncMail offering. The advantages of MobileSyncMail are its low monthly cost and its compatibility with Exchange ActiveSync technology, which has become the preferred technology for mobile synchronization.”

He added, “As smart wireless devices gain popularity, the ability to read email instantly, accept a calendar event and track tasks from a mobile device while syncing with the server is a boon.”

The MobileSyncMail from Apps4Rent has an easy to use webmail interface that comes with anti-virus and anti-spam tools, the ability to attach large files, 5 GB of storage space, SyncML and WebDAV support and compatibility with different versions of Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, Entourage and Thunderbird mail clients. 

All MobileSyncMail servers are located in multiple SAS (News - Alert) Certified data centers, with cluster configuration for reliability. If users are faced with any challenges, they will be able to take full advantage of 24x7x365 support via chat, email and phone.
