In its report titled, "Fall 2010 Global Internet Phenomena," Sandvine focuses on the behavioral patterns of Internet users in various countries. Sandvine's (News - Alert) Fall 2010 Internet Phenomena report examines a representative cross-section of the world's leading fixed and mobile data providers and is made possible by the voluntary participation of our customers.
Since 2002, Sandvine has published eight reports (including this) about Internet phenomena and traffic analysis. According to the company, this report is the most comprehensive of its kind in the industry as Sandvine provides its global view, which includes over 200 service provider customers spanning more than 80 countries, on this topic. The eighth report focuses on the subtle yet substantial differences between behavior patterns of consumers in various regions when connecting to the Internet.
“The Internet has a unique way of bridging international gaps and bringing people together," said Dave Caputo, president and CEO of Sandvine, in a press release. "Yet, interestingly, as we all plug into this international network to satisfy our social, professional and entertainment needs, our access patterns and online behaviors have become as unique as we are. The Internet is one single source that satisfies 500 million people.”
The report shows that even within regions traffic trends have changed over the past six-to-twelve months by contrasting Internet usage with previous Sandvine reports. According to the report, Netflix represents more than 20 percent of downstream traffic during peak times in the United States. In Europe, zSHARE has become the dominant leader for storage and back-up services, the report stated.
Recently, the company announced that five of its officers were disclosing the adoption of automatic securities disposition plans by themselves or certain family trusts with which each such officer is, respectively, associated. Canadian legislation permits insiders to adopt written ASDPs to dispose of shares in the future according to the ASDP on an automatic basis. Once an ASDP is established, the insider is not permitted to exercise any further discretion or influence.
