MeLLmo, Inc., has raised $10 million in third-round funding. The company did not identify which “private investors” took part in the funding. In total, since its founding in January 2008, MeLLmo has raised $20 million in funding.
The company will use the money for expenses associated with Roambi, a mobile business visual analytics application for “on-the-go analysis and decision-making,” according to a MeLLmo statement. Roambi can be accessed via the iPhone (News - Alert) or iPad.
“As the workforce becomes more mobile, MeLLmo is helping enterprises and small- to medium -sized businesses take full advantage of the iPhone and iPad as business tools,” Santiago Becerra, chairman and co-founder of MeLLmo, explained in a company statement.
“Our third round of funding will allow us to expand globally, delivering Roambi to a worldwide market. We will continue to develop strategic reseller, system integrator and technology partnerships with industry-leading companies, and invest in further enhancements to the unparalleled Roambi experience for viewing and interacting with business data on a mobile device,” he added.
MeLLmo also said it has expanded Roambi’s connectivity. Some of those now included are IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, SAP (News - Alert), Endeca, Google and Salesforce.
Among the company’s products are Roambi Lite, Roambi Pro, and Roambi ES3. They can be used by individual users, workgroups, small- to medium-sized businesses, or enterprises.
“As a MeLLmo system integration partner, we have already seen great success in delivering Roambi’s sleek, interactive mobile dashboards to clients who depend on mobile BI as a part of their business strategy,” said Chris Ovens, general manager of SpotOn (News - Alert) Systems. “With Roambi we are able to deliver best-of-breed mobile analytics capabilities to our users.”
“MeLLmo has created true mobile business intelligence with Roambi," agreed Dave Caruso, vice president of enterprise product management and marketing at Endeca. “Endeca and MeLLmo share a vision for reinventing in-the-moment, on-the-go decision-making.”
The need for the kind of products MeLLmo is providing is growing – given current business trends.
“With the mobile workforce growing exponentially, pervasive access to critical company reports and data enhances productivity at every level of an organization,” MeLLmo explained. “According to recent research from Aberdeen (News - Alert) Group, many organizations have invested in multiple business intelligence systems.”
Roambi Lite is free and Roambi Pro is $99 per year. The Roambi App is available as a free download from the iTunes Store or here.
TMCnet recently reported that MeLLmo released Roambi Blink, which gives mobile workers a product that visually explores company data and answer questions in the “blink-of-an-eye.”
