StumbleUpon, a discovery engine, has announced the introduction of its free application for iPhone and Android (News - Alert)-powered mobile devices, which will allow users in discovering and sharing cool content from the Web using their mobile phones.
In a release, Garrett Camp, founder and CEO of StumbleUpon said, "Following the success of our iPad app, we're excited to extend the stumbling experience to iPhone (News - Alert) and Android device users, letting people explore the best of the web at any time no matter where they are. Downloading the app is easy and once logged-in, users can discover great online content that's tailored to their preferences."
The latest StumbleUpon application is optimized for the mobile discovery experience, it uses the same personalized recommendation technology which users would face while using their personal computer or iPad. While using their mobile phone, users can 'thumb-up' or 'thumb-down' the sites they have liked or disliked, and these preferences will be saved by the application for their next session when they open it.
Users can define their stumbling to a particular category like Photography or Science, or browse through all the pages in no specific category. Users can also view content on the best content sites, going through lush photography on Flickr or funny videos on YouTube (News - Alert).
This latest free application can be downloaded from Apple's iTunes store or through the Android Market.
