Web and video conferencing solutions provider, InterCall, has agreed to acquire Britain-based Preferred One Stop Technologies Limited ('POSTcti') in an apparent attempt to bolster its position in the hosted exchange UC technology market.
This is the other acquisition for InterCall in the Unified Communications (News - Alert) segment after its parent company, West Corp, purchased SKT Business Communications in March, 2010.
A Microsoft Gold Partner, POSTcti (News - Alert) has agreements with several manufacturers to resell a wide range of hosted exchange server technologies and SIP voice endpoints. POSTcti's flagship product, Unified Desktop, offers to reduce operational costs, increase responsiveness, productivity and customer support levels.
The reason for InterCall (News - Alert) to purchase POSTcti is because its Unified Desktop combines hosted Microsoft Lync Server 2010 with hosted Microsoft Exchange to deliver an end-to-end hosted exchange portfolio, including IP telephony, presence, instant messaging, audio/video/web conferencing and other leading collaborative tools.
Neil May, managing director of POSTcti, stated that the acquisition brings together POSTcti’s fully-hosted exchange Unified Communications services with InterCall's collaboration services suite.
Moreover, POSTcti customizes the products and services for organizations to meet several basic challenges such as employee productivity and retention, disaster recovery, IP telephony migration and disparate vendor investments.
In Britain, POSTcti has long been serving companies to integrate legacy PBX (News - Alert) systems with Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007, Microsoft Lync Server 2010 and other collaborative applications.
'The combined result is a service provider of global scale with unparalleled experience and capability to provide clients with unlimited options for designing, deploying and executing on world class business process and communication integration strategies,' Neil May added.
'With the addition of POSTcti's product and service offerings, we now have the global resources and expertise to complement our best-in-class communications network and operations infrastructure to assist our clients with their UC needs around the world,' stated Todd Strubbe, president of West's Unified Communications operating segment.
